Our approach to art and artist study is very literature base, with a stong focus on the visual and hands on aspcet of art. We read several books on each artist (many picture books from our local library) We love the Mike V books they are informative and humorous. This year we choose four artist and spent six weeks studying each artist life, art work, art style, techniques and then using similiar materials we attempted to recreate some of the artists masterpieces. We put it all together in a lapbook book we used one folder per artist and had a folder about art in general. The rest I made myself with the help of Google Images. Next Fall we will be studying four other artist I will be using
